access granted technologies inc.

Access Granted Technology Inc. sets up home automation, a single system that controls all electronic aspects of a home such as security, lighting and temperature. I re-designed their visual identity focusing on the idea of “access” through the forward leaning shapes and the complementing “green light” colour. The graphic elements and colour palette support the idea of technology. So that they would be successful in maintaining their brand in the future I also created identity specifications and guidelines for them.

genius support foundation

I volunteered to create the visual identity for the Genius Support Foundation charity. This charities goal is to support talented young minds in third world countries to do great things. I used the symbol for eternity to show how truly great and influential people like Albert Einstein are forever remembered. The yellow circle like a shining star represents how a genius affects the world in their time and the future, forever making a mark in history.

modern finish painting

As a brand new company, Modern Finishes Painting was in need of a visual identity. They provide interior and exterior residential professional painting services. The emphasis on paint swatches seemed important as the client would likely decide on their new colours for the project with paint swatches to be given to the painter. Typically, clients want to update their home with a fresh, new coat of paint. To support the idea of personalization the tagline “show off your true colours” was developed. To maintain brand consistency visual identity guidelines were also created.
opening gaits therapeutic riding society of calgary

This charity provides therapeutic horse back riding for children with physical and/or mental challenges. They were in need of a meaningful and professional looking visual identity. The goal was to be engaging while provoke a sense of freedom and accomplishment through innocence and fantasy. The logo: the naive drawing of the mystical pegasus supports the idea of being whimsical. The huge gait or leap of the horse describes the opportunity for accomplishment and possibility. The wordmark sits under the drawing to emphasize the uplifting flying nature of the pegasus.
ptk construction management corporation

PTK Construction Management Corporation provides consulting and execution management services to industrial clients. PTK was looking to update their look while maintaining their basic corporate colours. To represent that they oversee all aspects of a project the idea of a building casting a shadow was developed. A stylized font with construction like characteristics was chosen to further strengthen the brand. To complete their visual identity, a stationery set including letterhead, business card and mailing label was designed.
rana respiratory care group
A KADG project.

RANA required a new refreshing look to enhance their image and build visual continuity between their growing departments and locations. As part of the team that re-designed the RANA corporate identity my job was to re-design the logo, stationery sets, forms, and build Mircosoft Word templates. The trusting and stabilizing colour of blue along with the idea of air currents became a major factor in the overall design. Visual identity guidelines were created so that they could successfully maintain their new brand.

s2 architecture
An S2 project.

SSE Architecture changed their company name to S2 Architecture and required a new corporate identity. The design was kept simple and the company colours remained the same as a visual tie to their old identity for clients. The curves of the letter S reflects their flexibility, confident direction and creativity. The 2 represents the two partners Robert Spaetgens and Dave Symons. It also represents duality and balance, important elements in architecture. The basic shape of the square is trusted and familiar while denoting stability. These characteristics are not only important in architecture but also in a company.
spinnermax inc.

Spinnermax Inc. produces real estate photography and 360 degree virtual tours for marketing purposes. Spinnermax decided that it required a new, consistent and professional looking visual identity. To play up the company services and name a stylized rotating shutter was developed. The colour palette is derived from the RGB colour model in which red, green, and blue light can reproduce a broad array of colours. Appropriate since photography is the process of recording pictures by means of capturing light on a light-sensitive medium. Stationery and visual identity guidelines were created so that they could successfully maintain their new brand.

true dimensional studios

True Dimensional Studios creates realistic three-dimensional architectural renderings and animations. The created images are representations of the real word, they are virtual. To illustrate the twist in reality or “truth” the “e” in true was turned upside down and emphasized with a contrasting colour. The mesh and grid like background elements represent the framework in which three dimensional images are created.

As a new company yoga attic wanted its first appearance to make a lasting impression. I was approached by them to design their visual identity. I started off with the logo. The emblem is made of 3 parts. The centre floating green circle represents the mind and physical position of the studio in the attic. The larger teal circle represents the body that holds the mind. The organic shape in the background represents the spiritual and suggests the ornate decorations from the origin of yoga in india. Lower case letters are used to appear approachable and friendly. The font has rounded attributes that suggest an organic feeling. The colour palette includes muted cool colours producing a calming effect.

kona coast villas - medican
A SIX project.

Medican develops condominiums in resort communities offering vacation style properties. Their project Kona Coast Villas in Hawaii, was in need of an advertisement to introduce and pre-sell the condominiums. I designed the logo focusing on name “Kona” meaning southwest winter wind. This led me to suggest wind in the gentle, flowing grasses. The font is organic and informal like the Hawaiian people. The carefree nature of tropical locations led to the concept and title of the advertisement “Don’t worry be very happy”.
